I've always been strangely freaked out by certain words and I've found that list growing as of late. Believe me this doesn't even scratch the surface. And I promise you, if something (particularly cake) is ever presented as super moist, I will not eat it. Not even a crumb. And moist towlettes? Forget about it. Are there any words that make you want to throw up in your mouth a bit? Or am I the only crazy pants? Clearly I have a ton and when you put them all in a sentence, the grossness is astronomical. But if I know you and you use these words, I promise not to judge.

You nailed it. This is pretty much my exact list, although hemorrhage does look lovely in that font you chose. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny, I was only just talking about the word moist and how weird it is. There are some words that I try and avoid.

Oh this made me chuckle. I have an ever growing list too, and annoyingly everyone seems to find it hilarious to 'slip' in these words constantly just to watch me cringe.
ReplyDeleteYou have one of my words up there. The 'M' one. Hate it. My others (this is a big deal to write them) are pamphlet, gusset and cusp. Ick. Ick. Ick.
Ps I think writing them in pretty fonts helps. I might try that ;)
Moist, pudding and panties are my least favorite on the planetttttttt. Want to vom right now.
ReplyDeleteI hate panties, curdle, and coagulate....I shudder even typing them!
ReplyDeleteohmygosh I could agree more about 'moist'. hate it!
ReplyDeleteI love the word 'moist', but contrastingly hate the word 'chalk'.... it makes me feel like I need to howl at the moon...
ReplyDeleteI hate the word "pee" with a passion. My fiance thinks it's funny when I say "urinate" instead, which I somehow find slightly better because it's more medical.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I never thought of cumulus, buttt moist and loaf are disturbing. I HATE panties and pocketbook. Ick. Oh, and when people say panty hose, I die. Gross.
ReplyDeletevelvet cupcakes
You certainly picked out some good words and I can definitely see why you don't like them. My old roommate HATED the word moist. It is pretty gross, huh?
ReplyDeleteOh yes, yes, yes!
ReplyDeleteThe m word and panties. Hideous.
I find used a little disturbing too.

ReplyDeletethat's hilarious. i never thought about the word moist and how it really sounds and i guess that's the first one going in my list. panties would be second.

ReplyDeleteHi Erin,
ReplyDeleteyour post is fantastically funny, along with the responses - I am in total agreeance with The 'm' & The 'p' word! You really made me laugh out loud reading this :)
I almost died laughing when I saw this post... just the other day I was talking to my bf about how gross the word MOIST is. I'm happy to know that we share a disdain for that word. LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI just laughed so much. I hate the words moist and panties. Can't bring myself to say them Glad I'm not the only one!
ReplyDeleteQuiver. And yeah, "moist" gets me every time. It's just yucky.
ReplyDeleteI get made fun of daily for this very reason. My fiance thinks that we were separated at birth... Thanks for actually coming forth and saying my thoughts outloud. :)
