1000 + and Where it all Began

Sign via Etsy Shop William Dohman

I just realized that Erin Ever After is now at over 1000 followers (thank you Simone for being lucky number 1000!) which is completely bananas to me. But so, so, so cool. It seems like just yesterday I was trying to decide if I should take the plunge into bloggy land and upon doing so had but one follower, my Mom. My how things have changed. Thank you all for reading along and sticking with my musings even when life gets too busy to blog. I so appreciate each and every comment, tweet and email. So to celebrate this little milestone, I thought it would be fun to read back over my first post which started it all. Cheers and happy tuesday xoxo

It is 5:30 in the morning on a sunday and I have finally decided to sit down and create a blog. Why, you ask? I could feel my bloodshot eyes begin to water and beg to be closed as I sat on the sofa perusing shoe websites when it hit me...I have lost my f*!?ing mind!  Any normal person would be in bed right now, sleeping off the three (four maybe?)vodka tonics that I happily consumed earlier in the evening. But I am not any normal person, I am a very detail oriented bride to be who is currently searching for the perfect pair of shoes.
I figure this blog might be the only way to remain somewhat sane through out this process.  Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love, love being engaged and planning a wedding but I have come to find that wedding planning has made me a bit...how shall I say this...obsessive, compulsive,overly detail oriented, up at 5 in the morning scouring zappos.com, going to make my sister and mother disown me if I don't stop emailing them every two seconds with inspiration pictures....crazed. And that, my friends, is why I feel the need to blog.  Welcome to my wacky world. Now what do you think of the shoes?

Snippet & OUT OF CONTROL GORGEOUS

seriously, I have been waiting to see Kathryn of Snippet & Ink's wedding because I just knew it would be good...like wedding porn kind of good and it delivered. Elizabeth Messina's photography is out of this world and the details are perfect. The whole day totally captured my heart and if you know what's good for you, you'll take a little time to watch the film too. See it all on Snippet & Ink

Fleas in Paris

It is safe to say that I am a total blog stalker when it comes to Jordan Ferney and her little corner of the blogosphere, Oh Happy Day. And this was before her and her adorbs family up and moved to Paris. Now, seriously forget about it. I eat up every single image from the beautiful flower stores to the lovely little apartment overlooking the Eiffel Tower and now the Paris Flea Market. Clearly all Flea Markets are not built the same. The Parisian version is bursting with one lovely chair after another. And you know what I say to that? Not Fair!!!!! Obviously I know where I need to move next.

2011 is off to a busy albeit amazing start...

We have been a little crazy around the SMP offices as of late but with good reason, we were busy working on our first E-Glossy and I know I'm a bit biased but all favoritism aside, I happen to think it is fall off your seat gorgeous. Definitely worth a look if you haven't already devoured it cover to cover. See it here

in other cool news... BrideTide named Erin Ever After in its 100 Top Blogs of 2011 along with a bevy of other fabulous reads. Thank you for the lovely mention! I have a feeling this year is going to be a really good one

It smells like Summer

the style savvy ladies of Sitting in a Tree recently put on a fab event in San Diego to celebrate all things summer. We are talking hay bales, yummy food from MIHO Gastrotruck and Viva Pops and the cutest of decor. They even screened their favorite old summertime movies. I must admit though, it made my heart ache a wee bit for my old hood. Summertime and the livin is easy...indeed.

We interrupt scheduled broadcasting...

to wish this blog a happy first birthday. On this day, one year ago, I wrote my  first blog post and had absolutely no idea what I was doing or what I was getting myself into. Needless to say, it has been a very good year. Cheers and thank you so very much for following along. I think I need a cupcake.

An email from Sunset Magazine

To: Erin Lepperd
Subject: Hello, Erin, from Sunset Magazine

Hello Erin,

I noticed your charming blog post about our recent story on succulent frames. If space permits, I’d like to include a reference to it in an upcoming Reader Letters column. How does that sound to you?

--Alan Phinney

I found this little gem in my inbox yesterday and nearly had a heart-attack. Granted it says "if space permits" and yes it is only a reader letters column but STILL - it is SUNSET magazine. I die.

Once Wed

Our wedding is being featured on the always incredible Once Wed today. Hurry, run go check it out. It is so crazy to see our faces up on a blog that I have poured through the last year for wedding inspiration. Very, insanely exciting but oh so surreal. I'm doing a little happy dance right now.

{ Blog Love }

{All images via Tulle and Feathers}

I have been completely obsessed with this blog ever since I stumbled upon it a few days ago. Tulle and Feathers is comprised of two friends, both planning their weddings from different California cities. One wants a colorful fiesta in Mexico and the other is planning a modern cocktail party in a barn. They both have amazing design sense and I am sort of insanely jealous of their drool worthy engagement rings. Check out their lovely blog...go....now.
