The Sequin Bandwagon

There's no denying that sequins are having a major moment. One that I think needs to make its way into my hot little hands. We're talking sparkling sequin clutch action.
Dazzling purses are the new black. Grab one in every color under the metallic rainbow

And if you're feeling more crafty and less spendy, check out this DIY from the pages of SMP's Fashion & Beauty Mag. It's the hotness.

The Do It List

just a few projects on my current to-do list

1.Painted gold striped vases and lucky me, I have a billion gallons of liquid leaf to play with

2. Adding pom pom trim to curtains. This has been on my list for awhile now. I got these simple white curtains for my bedroom and bought some lovely pom pom trim and good old fabric glue. Now I just need to make it happen

3. We desperately need sconces in our bedroom but we rent so I really don't want to hardwire anything. This bulb sconce looks uber simple and no hardwiring required. sold

4. Art is expensive but this rad DIY picture is not. $4 people. Four little buckaroos. Again, sold

5. We go through Mrs. Meyers hand soap like water. I don't even want to tally the ridiculous amounts of money we spend. This project is a sure fire fix

I Made This

a little birthday gift to this man

Isn't he handsome? He also happens to be my most favorite Husband ever, hence why just a regular old I love You wouldn't do. I felt it needed a bit more oomph; know what I mean? Now all that's left to do is go wash my mouth out with soap. Totally worth the cute wall art though

Just in case you are jumping on the potty mouth bandwagon, you can download your own F'ing love print in Black, Grey, or Citron. Once you download, each print will be packaged in a nice 8 x 10 for your printing pleasure. Now go spread the love.

Put a SKIRT on it

I realize that the skirted table is not a new concept. But these hot, modern specimens full of straight lines, perfect pleats and lovely tailoring are right up my alley. And music to a small space's ears since you can hide all sorts of unsightly bits underneath. I'm thinking this would be the perfect bar solution for our little apartment and since I am not a sewer what so ever, Wisteria's skirted table might be my best bet. I also found a few no-sew tutorials at Little Green Notebook and Johns Journal if you feel so inclined.

Crushing on Dip-Dyed

I've fallen hard for dip dying and sort of want to do it to my hair, my chairs, my silverware...nothing is safe

The Weekend Warriors of Charlestown

Over the weekend, Mr. Huz and I decided to get our hands dirty with a few projects. Actually, lets rephrase, I decided that some projects needed to be did and forced my husband into participation.
First up? Floating shelves. These little ditties look easy enough but let me tell you, we almost got a divorce over their installation. Worth it though, right? We eat up every single inch of space we can around here.
Anndd so deserving of a few gratuitous close up shots. Even Ikea Shelves are worthy of their 15 minutes. Plus the Trojan Horsey shakers are all sorts of cute.

next up was a little game I like to play called what in my apartment can I paint gold? Nothing is safe when I am wielding a paint brush and endless amounts of Liquid Leaf. Picture frames, candlesticks, MY BED...you name it, I'll gild it.

And last, the dilemma of the bulbous basket. Oh this cute little chubby basket. I've been eying it up for weeks and finally decided to pull the trigger as the perfect laundry basket for our bedroom. We aren't blessed with a big closet so the laundry has to be out and about and thus needs something pretty to house it.
This is where things get a bit hairy. I hit the wrong button! The wrong freaking button and received a blue basket instead of the au natural that I was expecting which of course doesn't match the love cave in any way shape or form. And on top of that, it costs almost as much money in shipping to return so that basket is ours FOREVER. Which brings me to this weekend.
I was on the hunt for jussstt the right spot. Lo and behold I found it but it happens to be in our kitchen. Weird that we now keep dirty laundry in the kitchen? Totally but my plan is tell people that cute little Senegalese basket is the holder of potatoes. yep lots and lots of potatoes up in there. nothing wrong with that.

Floors Adorned and Other Stenciled Musings

stenciling isn't just for your moms anymore. It is on a whole new level of eclectic wonderment and I adore. Seriously if I wasn't renting, you best believe there would be some stenciled floor action up in this piece

and why have I never thought of this...painted wallpaper. Hello genius!

There is a tutorial here with a download template. I know what I'll be doing this weekend
