a few pieces I've had my eye on lately. My striped wall is still in need of a little something fabulous

A Day in the Life

The Everygirl is rad and the lovely ladies behind it, even radder. They stopped by the SMP offices for some chit chat and picture taking. Missed it? See so much more here...including an interview where I spill the beans about stalking Abby Larson and a life long dream of meeting Oprah and drinking a lot of champagne. Oh yeah, it's a doozy.

Reading List

You all are a wealth of information. From great vegan recipes to teaching me how to cheers in Portuguese (Tim Tim) - you fill my inbox and my comment section with loads of great tid bits necessary to living a happy, fulfilled life. And right now I'm tapping into that resource yet again. I need the low down on new great books. So tell me, what's on your reading list? I'm all ears. I need a few new favorites to fill these bookshelves.

On another note we have far too many black and white books. (7 shelves of our massive built in!) The husband is currently on a b&w book covered buying freeze. Crazy, I know, but these bookshelves don't look this fabulous by happenstance. I kid, I kid (sort of)

And since we're having a cute, cozy, little book moment, here are a few of my latest faves that I whole heartedly recommend

Bedside View

I consider myself a nightstand connoisseur. Not in reality, but in the land of pinning and pulling inspiration with an unlimited budget. In that land, I rule and so does my nightstand. In reality, I have an itty bitty room with just enough space for a stool and some books.
Hey, me and that stool, we make it work. But back to the unlimited budget and space land. In that world, my nightstand would look a little something like this...

1. A bright pink lamp just so my husband knows what side of the bed is his

2. Yummy, smell so good you want to eat them candles. that are $60. But remember we're pretending that candles that cost $60 are totally normal and I buy them all the time. In fact, I have a huge stash in my closet just waiting to be frivolously burned

3. A gold detailed coaster to rest beverages like water or vodka sodas if it's been a rough day

4. Pretty, pretty notebooks for all those genius midnight ideas on how to conquer the world. I have a lot of those

5. A little tongue-in-cheek humor for your nightstand. It's little, it's cute and hey, it holds pills

6. Lots and lots of books.*On a side note we're total book hoarders around these parts. As in, we might one day be eaten alive by our plethora of novels. But this book,oh this book, I don't care if it buries me alive one day because it is just that good. Like up at three in the morning choking back tears good. buy it. read it. you won't be sorry

7. Water is a necessity on a great nightstand. Honestly, who wants to wrestle out of bed at three in the morning when your throat is parched? Not I. so water. next to your bed. much needed. and this carafe makes it all the more chic.

8 and 9. As I mentioned before, I like books. A lot. I also enjoy a good layered moment so in my dream world full of wide open spaces there would be room for not only a crazy, gorgeous over the top expensive night stand but just enough space for a wee little stool to stack some of my current reads. Fun, no?

An Open Letter

After a recent message left by my Grandmother (yes, my Grandma!) stating, and I quote, " Erin I know some great ways to get pregnant. Call me Back!" I realized this whole baby situation is a little bit out of hand. I too know how to get pregnant Grandma, just sayin. But aside from that, I really don't think it's appropriate to discuss the tightness of my husband's underwear or the frequency of our adult playtime. Am I right? You don't even have to answer. I know I'm right and for reasons like this, I am thinking this open letter might come in very, very handy.

I Made This

a little birthday gift to this man

Isn't he handsome? He also happens to be my most favorite Husband ever, hence why just a regular old I love You wouldn't do. I felt it needed a bit more oomph; know what I mean? Now all that's left to do is go wash my mouth out with soap. Totally worth the cute wall art though

Just in case you are jumping on the potty mouth bandwagon, you can download your own F'ing love print in Black, Grey, or Citron. Once you download, each print will be packaged in a nice 8 x 10 for your printing pleasure. Now go spread the love.

A Very Chloe Christmas

This little munchkin and her fabulous eyelashes came to visit for the Holidays and all was well and good until we decided to play a little game of dress the dog up. Poor Chloe. I'm pretty sure she is raring to go home

Elf Chloe is super cute but Santa Chloe is by far my favey fave even though the picture is a bit blurry. Doesn't she look enthused?

Framework

Come November 12, I'm joining the club. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that I will look even half as adorable as these lovely ladies. Now hows about a looky-loo at what's currently at the top of my eyeglass lust list

Speaking of Anniversaries

this is how we celebrate the Anniversary of I Do in the Lepperd household – with a nice cozy pair of Wicked Good Slippers from L.L. Bean. Sexy, right? With Chilly McFreezing Winter just around the corner and not a slipper in the house, we figured who needs fancy dinners or weekend getaways to Vermont? Instead lets indulge in fuzzy goodness for our toes. So order we did all while gulping down a nice big bottle of Cab. I mean it wouldn't be an Anni without wine, right?

In other news, I spotted quite the lovely Anniversary Party over on Oh Happy Day

Gorgeous cake, a little croquet and dinner with friends all captured by Leo Patrone. Sounds like my kind of party. Maybe next year we'll forgo the robe exchange (because robes are a natural progression from slippers, duh) and opt for a pretty party instead

Whoopsy Daisy

has it really been over two weeks since I blogged? Don't know how that happens. I must have been having way too much fun eating my weight in chips and salsa in California or editing gorgeous weddings over at my Day Job but I'm back and I promise to fill your readers with tasty bits soon, very soon. No more staring at "An Ode to the Boy". promise. Instead you can gaze upon that big ol' balloon. Fun right? Until tomorrow lovelies...or maybe this evening. It all depends on when I get my act together.

An Ode to the Boy

I'm jumping on a plane today for sunny Los Angeles and it never fails... as I run around throwing every pair of shoes I might possibly need, every lovely outfit I own and wayyyy too many pjs for one little week, the only thing I REALLY want to put in my suitcase is Mr. Lepperd. Really I could do without the rest but my love/ life bestie/ best spooner ever...him I whither away without. So to you my love, hoping this week flies by quicker than ever before. And someday, lets get soo rich that we can just fly everywhere together. Sound like a plan?  xoxo

BHLDN and the Big Apple

BHLDN, the purveyors of fine wedding wares is having a fall collection preview in New York this week and guess who's been invited to the pretty party? Yours truly which also means I'll be sharing all the lovely frocks and things I spy along the way. Sit tight for updates because I hear this season is bringing mix and match separates... for weddings...dying.

And their invitation had me at hello. We're talking pure paper doll magic all wrapped up in a lovely box. I'll be sure to share the awesomeness when i get back. Until then loves

Words that should be banned

I've always been strangely freaked out by certain words and I've found that list growing as of late. Believe me this doesn't even scratch the surface. And I promise you, if something (particularly cake) is ever presented as super moist, I will not eat it. Not even a crumb. And moist towlettes? Forget about it. Are there any words that make you want to throw up in your mouth a bit? Or am I the only crazy pants? Clearly I have a ton and when you put them all in a sentence, the grossness is astronomical. But if I know you and you use these words, I promise not to judge.

Rooftops and Cake Pops

Over the weekend, we had yet another little get together on our roof deck and I must say, that little spot is fast becoming my favorite place EVER in the history of placedom.

I made cake pops and French Gimlets (fabulous combo by the way) and we partied amongst gorgeous views all night long. It was all sorts of heaven. So today, while I still have visions of sweet treats and sunny views bouncing in my head, I thought it would be fun to pass along my favorite cake pop recipe along with some gorgeous rooftop sanctuaries that I am currently coveting.

My go-to is Bakerella's Cake Pops and for this fête, I simply switched out the cake flavor for Funfetti Cake and vanilla frosting then smothered those babies in white chocolate, added a splash of rainbow sprinkles and voilà. Totally vegan I promise.

Now on to roof decks...
