Curtained

Cabanas aren't just for the rich and glamorous anymore. If you find yourself sans pool but with an awesome old porch, take a note from the Novogratz handbook and plunk some cabana-esque drapery porch-side. And then invite me over for some lemonade. I'll bring the vodka.

outdoor beds work mighty fine too

Pretty weather (read 80 degrees in Boston last week) makes me want to do EVERYTHING outside, including eating, drinking and being ever so merry. If only I had a view like above, I might even sleep outside. They don't have bears at the beach, right? But alas I'm in Boston and it's back to a chilly 45 degrees so for now I'll stick to dreaming of bright, shiny, happy tablescapes perfect for sipping mojitos. Summer can't come fast enough.

In and Out

So sadly I've never taken a shower out of doors sans suit but there is something about being outside all nakey butts that just sounds soooo nice and refreshing. In my future dream home, these indoor-outdoor showers are at the top of the list. Heck, I'll take the pool too.

Fly Me Away

Today I'm dreaming of far off lands full of bright, exotic wonderment. You know somewhere where things like this are a daily occurrence...

But alas I am stuck simply gazing at images with just the right amount of zebra print and loads of color to tide my exotic musings over until I can hop on a plane to paradise. One thing is for sure, it makes Mondays a whole lot prettier.

Rooftops and Cake Pops

Over the weekend, we had yet another little get together on our roof deck and I must say, that little spot is fast becoming my favorite place EVER in the history of placedom.

I made cake pops and French Gimlets (fabulous combo by the way) and we partied amongst gorgeous views all night long. It was all sorts of heaven. So today, while I still have visions of sweet treats and sunny views bouncing in my head, I thought it would be fun to pass along my favorite cake pop recipe along with some gorgeous rooftop sanctuaries that I am currently coveting.

My go-to is Bakerella's Cake Pops and for this fête, I simply switched out the cake flavor for Funfetti Cake and vanilla frosting then smothered those babies in white chocolate, added a splash of rainbow sprinkles and voilà. Totally vegan I promise.

Now on to roof decks...

Poolside Dreaming

those be watermelon mojito popsicles. A necessity for any poolside lounging. Can we say YUM? Get the recipe here

it's the first day of summer and ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT is laying poolside with a cocktail in hand surrounded by yummy cabana stripes. How about you?
